Building a business? start networking

By Jay NaPier

For years top business owners have had a very big secret on how they continue to grow their business and become successful. The secret really wasn't a secret, it was more discipline which allowed them to continue to grow their business and be successful.

If you've ever recommended a plumber, mechanic or real estate agent, you've been networking. By simply sharing your clients with other business owners you can quickly expand your business. Every time there's an opportunity to recommend a member of the business network, you simply do it.

These weekly meetings consist of business card exchange and letting each other know home they've recommended their services to. These weekly meetings are a great opportunity to get to know one another and find out new things about each business.

Each networking group member who recommends you is endorsing you for your services and products. They'll give you contact information so you can call the person you've been referred to so that you can follow-up on that referral, giving them a higher level of service.

If you could have 20 to 60 people carrying around your business card, recommending your products and services, wouldn't that make it the highest form of networking available to you? other networking groups are available, however this is the best option available.

Your local Chamber of Commerce is available to assist you in building your business. Each month they have networking opportunities available so you can meet new people, learn new things about the community, and expand your business knowledge.

As you attend these networking events, be sure to bring plenty of business cards. At each event, make sure you get to know new people by sitting at different tables and reaching out to new members.

If you're looking for new business, networking is the way to go. You can quickly add more revenue to your business and even build a silent salesforce whose only compensation is for you to refer to them as well.
