Free Marketing Tips for Your Online Home Business

By George L. Kenney

Making money at home in an online business can be profitable and you cans also have a lot of fun doing it, if you get off to the right start. One of the first considerations is how you are going to market the business. Here you'll be introduced to some free methods and also some ideas for very low cost marketing.

A great no cost method to start with is free online classified ads. You can Google online classified ads and find over two dozen sites. You'll want to follow each site's guidelines in order to stay in good standing, no reason to get booted off a free site.

Personal contact marketing is very effective. I'm not suggesting that you call everyone you know and tell them about your new venture and how you know that this is just the right opportunity for them. As you go about your day just listen to what people are saying about their job, the boss, or the commute. Hand them a business card and suggest that you might be able to assist them. Let them contact you, if they don't, its cost you nothing more than a business card and a small amount of time.

Business cards can also be placed on car doors. Use one with a simple message like "home business opportunity could reap BIG rewards for YOU! call 1 800 XXX XXXX". Large office buildings and busy shopping malls are great places to distribute a large number of cards in a short amount of time. Place the cards on the driver's side door window, above the door handle.

"Bandit" signs are also very inexpensive and can be an effective method to use. These are plastic corrugated signs which are on metal "H" stands. Again a simple message like "CEO Income from home visit www.yourwebsite.com" Place these signs at busy intersections where there is likely to be some traffic backup so that passersby will have time to notice them.

Newspapers are relatively low cost if you consider the number of people you reach per dollar invested. One drawback is you may not be targeting your market. Choose newspapers with a mid sized circulation, below 200,000, and select a good income area.

Magazines can also be highly effective although the cost might be out of reach when you're just starting up. Magazines also have a time lag of 30 to 45 days between the time you place the order and publication. The great thing about magazines is their shelf life, you might get a call months after your ad runs.

These are some ideas to get you started in your home based business opportunity. There are many more which I will be covering in future articles. I hope these are helpful, and you have much success in your endeavor, whatever you choose.
