Use Promotional Mugs as a Marketing Tool

By Matthew Calvin

An item like a coffee mug serves a purpose in every person's daily life. Therefore, it is a wonderful idea to use promotional mugs as a tool to advertise your brand, service, or product. In the marketing world, this technique is called brand recalling. Whenever a person picks up a promotional mug, in due course of a day, consciously or unconsciously, the imprinted name will enter into his or her mind. That is how your item will take top priority in the invisible, "top of mind" list in the brain of that person. Now, when this person heads to the market to buy a product that your company sells, your logo will automatically appear in his or her mind.

Items that are used daily are usually the best to use as promotional tools. Mugs are one of these items. What makes mugs more useful than other tools, is that people do not throw away mugs. If they are attractive, people will want to use them everyday, and keep them close. If you create a mug that is eye catching, people will not help looking at it. This will create brand awareness, wherever the mug is seen.

At the same time, try to match the design of the promotional mug with the image of your company or product it carries. To give an example, if you have a business related to fine arts, try, and pick out a mug, which has very artistic and a unique look. If you are in the technology business, a metallic look of the promotional mug would suit better.

Choosing an appealing message to display on the mug is also important. Using a thought out text, such as a famous quote, along with your company's website and logo would be a good idea. If you are a well known company, then the logo itself would suffice.

Use promotional mugs as a marketing tool on every occasion possible, such as rewarding your employees, a commemorative gift on events like inaugurations, a product launch etc. You can't go wrong if you choose the most appropriate mug for the occasion.
