Making a Conference Bag Worthy of Use

By Matthew Calvin

Conference bags are as important to the conference as the speaker is. Without conference bags, and event would not be complete. Disappointing a person by not providing a conference bags, would dash their expectations. Spending a lot of money on the creation of these bags is a tool that a lot of companies take advantage.

Many companies wonder why their conference bag ends up not being used. A lot of times it is because the company, although good intentionally, dates the bag to commemorate a date. This automatically dates and item, and keeps it from being used in future dates. This is the whole reason for promotional products.

To ensure future use of your conference bags, resist printing dates on them. If you are using them as promotional tools, skip the dates. If you are using them to commemorate something, use the date.

What companies must remember, even though the bags are given out for free, is that they are not something that one would carry out of gratitude or out of style. Since the company's name is printed on the bags, people would think twice about carrying a free bag in everyday use. Now if a company's name were a designer name, it would be a different matter. But for ordinary companies, they must remember that there are key steps in making your bag something people will really use.

First you need to tailor the bag to the user's needs and tastes. For example, you wouldn't give a pink shopping tote to a group of business men. Next, try not to print your name and logo unless it is on something detachable. Lastly, create a bag that is stylish, that someone will want to show off.
