What an Ideal Promotional Umbrella Should Have

By Matthew Calvin

An umbrella as a promotional item has arrived and is here to stay. It has a utility along with longevity, which makes the recipient very happy. He or she will remember the company that issued it and become a mobile advertisement for it.

A company cannot rest on its past laurels. The rule of success is to push oneself continuously and be ready to excel in all kinds of situations. Similarly a company needs to achieve success in different and difficult conditions. If a company thinks on the above lines, it will not say, "Our umbrellas were a big success. Let us just continue to give them like the way we have been doing in the past." It will start thinking about what an ideal promotional umbrella would be and how it will help them achieve higher sales and revenue.

The following are characteristics of the ideal promotional umbrella:1. Design the umbrella with the target user in mind. Umbrellas are useful to all people, but the effectiveness of it is higher when you keep in mind the user. Giving a bright pink umbrella to a group of business men is not wise. Likewise, an umbrella that is tye dyed would not be appreciated by senior citizens.

2.The venue to give away the umbrella should match with the lifestyle of the company's target customers. For example, giving away an elegant golf umbrella at a financial conference to discuss the economic outlook would perfectly match with the aspirations of an investment bank. A video game manufacturer handing out bright colored, logo-imprinted umbrellas at a dance party to launch its new video game would also be a good fit.

3.Using the promotional umbrella should be a well thought out part of your company's marketing strategy. Handing out umbrellas with your logo on them, only because you think that is the way to do it is not the way to go. Put thought and planning into your promotional awareness campaign.
