Personal branding has become a hot buzz phrase for those in M.O.R. vacations, yet so few even understand what a personal brand is. Most think that if they put up a website with video, they are now a personal brand. Well, I'm sorry it's much more than that.
Where did the myth come from? I was coaching a prominent MOR Vacations affiliate in 2007 and mentioned personal branding and video as the top ways to market and he took it to extreme. He wanted to know how I'd been winning awards and being on the top seller list. I didn't have time to explain it all, but what I gave him was enough for him to "think" he knows what personal branding is all about.
When you think about top brands, you think Trump, Oprah, Jordan and Regan. Without saying their whole name, you know I'm talking about Real Estate, TV, Basketball and Communications. How did that happen?? YEARS of building personal brand equity.
Let's pick on my personal favorite Donald Trump. He didn't become "The Trumpster"...and you couldn't "Trump" the competition until there were years of building a reputation. Donald Trump started building his brand when he was a child. He'd follow his father Fred to work, yes real estate. Building with toy blocks in the corner of his Dad's office
Everyone starts somewhere. The first project that allowed Trump to begin the process was turning a Manhattan hotel into a shiny gem. This allowed him to develop a reputation, which today allows him to develop real estate all over the world. It's taken years, but it does pay off.
Your reputation is a part of your personal brand. It also takes a track record, and being the first person that comes to mind on a topic. "I'm Everywhere" is something I hear often, and it's part of my personal brand.
As you learn more about personal branding and how M.O.R. vacations affiliates should be using it, you begin to see that most don't even understand it. You want to be UNIQUE, yet when you look at the websites of Members Only Resort Vacations affiliates, you see that many look almost exactly alike.

Before falling for the Personal Branding, YouTube, and Google Adwords marketing plan, do your research to find a marketing plan that will allow you be successful. You don't want be just another personal selling M.O.R. Vacations Memberships.

Before you buy a MOR Vacations business. Ask yourself what the mentor your considering as your trainer is all about. Are they easily reachable? Are they approachable. Are they too busy to train you? What does their mentoral brand mean.
